Srinagar, March 26(KNO) : Acting chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Abdul Hameed Butt Tuesday stated that United Nations (UN) through one of its resolutions has in categorical terms made it clear that such elections in Jammu Kashmir can never be substitute to the right of self-determination of the people of the State. "UN in its resolution has emphasized to both the countries for early resolution of the disputed State of Jammu Kashmir through free and fair exercise of right of self-determination or plebiscite so that people are able to decide about their fate," he said in a statement issued to KNO. Butt castigated pro-India Kashmiri politicians for shedding their crocodile tears, saying that these power hungry politicians are actually responsible for 'Indian State terrorism' in Kashmir as they have been working as 'collaborators' with them. "Kashmiri people have all along rejected these politicians by not participating in these farcical elections. India must take note of this fact that they by the dint of force, by banning JKLF and JeI cannot make valiant Kashmiri people to surrender their right of freedom and right of self-determination," he said. Meanwhile, in continuance of the protests against banning and arrest of Muhammad Yasin Malik, the delegation of JKLF leaders led by its diplomatic bureau chief Prof. Raja Zafar Khan in London met with UK based All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir (APPG) and apprised them about the latest situation of Jammu Kashmir. He was accompanied with JKLF UK Zonal president Sabir Gul and the senior party leader in UK Muhammad Faiz. The delegation informed the APPG members about the real motto behind banning of JKLF by India. Terming the ban on JKLF as 'undemocratic and uncalled for', they also expressed their serious concern on the arrest and labeling of PSA on Muhammad Yasin Malik. They appealed the British PM’s to write to your government (UK Govt) to use their offices in lifting the ban and to urge India to release all arrested political detainees including Malik for he has been heading purely a peaceful political organization that stands for the re-unification of the entire divided State of Jammu Kashmir. APPG members include member parliament and shadow Minister Mr. Afzal Khan and Lord Qurban Hussain. According to JKLF spokesman, the party in Paris, France led by its branch president Mushtaq Pasha held a protest demonstration near Eiffel Tower against banning of JKLF and against arrest of Malik. Besides a number of young children, the protest was attended by many party leaders including member supreme council Muzammil Adil. Similar protest demonstration was also held near press club Karachi, Pakistan led by the party’s Sind division president Khawaja Muhammad Abdullah Adv. Besides member supreme council Javed Hanif and Majid Khan many party leaders and members participated in the protest who demanded early lifting of ban on JKLF and early release of the party chairman. However, other forceful protest demonstrations and rallies were also held in Kotli and Rawlakot districts of AJK which were led by Ashfaq Kashmiri and Muhammad Haroon, the respective district presidents. Besides the others speakers, these rallies and protests against India were addressed by Zonal President Dr. Toqeer and Dy. Gen. Secretary S. M. Ibrahim adv. Both the leaders demanded lifting of ban on JKLF and early release of party chairman.(KNO)
